American elm bark – a classic remedy for stomach & intestines

Elm bark is a tried and tested classic in natural medicine – especially when it comes to sensitive stomach and intestinal areas. For our AniForte® Elm Bark Liquid We exclusively use the original American slippery elm bark, which is known for its mucilage-forming properties.

Upon contact with water, elm bark forms a gel-like, mucilaginous mass. This coats the lining of the stomach and intestines like a protective film, providing a soothing and beneficial effect. The long-chain sugar molecules (polysaccharides) it contains are primarily responsible for this effect. Studies show that elm bark can stimulate mucus production in the digestive tract, thus not only supporting natural gastrointestinal function but also helping to facilitate the passage of swallowed hair – for example, in cats – through the intestines.

Natural moorland powder – valuable humic acids from deep within the earth

Peat powder is produced from millennia-old, organically enriched material that has formed through natural decomposition processes in deeper layers of the earth. It contains a variety of valuable substances – especially humic acids, minerals, and trace elements – which are traditionally used to support the gastrointestinal tract.

This valuable natural moor powder can bind excess acids and toxins in the digestive system, thus helping to soothe the stomach and intestinal lining. It can gently regulate digestion, especially after diarrhea or changes in diet, without putting a strain on the body.

Due to its strong adsorptive properties, moor powder supports a balanced intestinal environment and can naturally contribute to stabilizing digestion – even in sensitive animals.

Psyllium husks – dietary fiber with swelling capacity

Psyllium husks are the seed coats of the Plantago ovata plant and are known for their exceptional swelling capacity. They can bind many times their own weight in water, creating a gel-like substance that spreads throughout the digestive tract and can naturally support bowel movements. Psyllium husks can have a particularly regulating effect in cases of loose stools or irregular bowel movements: they increase intestinal volume, slow down intestinal transit in cases of diarrhea, and stimulate natural peristalsis in cases of sluggish digestion – all without irritants or chemical additives.

In combination with elm bark and natural moor powder, the psyllium husks complete the unique recipe of AniForte® Elm Bark Liquid . They help ensure that the mixture is optimally distributed in the digestive tract and that its mucilage-forming properties can unfold their full effect – gently, supportively and highly well tolerated.

Tip: Should your pet dislike the taste of AniForte® Elm Bark Liquid If you don't like it straight away, you can simply mix it with some cooled meat broth or refine it with a tasty topping such as some juice from the wet food or fresh meat. AniForte® Bovine Blood Powder or some shredded coconut can contribute to better acceptance.

Alternatively, the finished mixture can be drawn into a syringe without a needle and administered directly into the mouth.

DOSAGE :

Dogs up to 10 kg: 10 g twice daily

Dogs over 10 kg: 15 g twice daily

Cats: 5 g twice daily

Administer the syrup 30–45 minutes before normal feeding. Do not mix AniForte® Elm Bark Liquid into the feed, as the strong mucilage can prevent nutrient absorption.

A notice: Please knead the sachet briefly before use to ensure the ingredients are evenly distributed. Store in a dry, sealed container. Protect from heat. Once opened, refrigerate and use within 3 days.
