The inulin from parsnips and the oligosaccharides from carrots serve as food for the gut microbiome and nourish the intestinal mucosa.
As a source of carotenoids, carrots are extremely healthy – especially for the eyes, skin, and heart. Carotenoids are classified as secondary plant compounds. In addition to their provitamin A activity, carrots have a positive effect on the immune system. Furthermore, they act as antioxidants in the body (protecting against inflammatory substances).
